TTY_DEFCHAR3 is a system parameter that allows a user to set a bit so that the OpenVMS terminal driver remaps CTRL/H to Delete. VSI recommends that you not set this bit as a systemwide default.

Characteristic Value (Hex) Function
TT3$M_BS 10 When this bit is set, the OpenVMS terminal console remaps CTRL/H to Delete.
